Dr. Lois Brustman, MD is board-certified in maternal-fetal medicine and obstetrics and gynecology, and has special clinical interests in areas of high-risk obstetrics. This includes diabetes in pregnancy, fetal evaluation, preterm labor, and preconception counseling. She has also been active in research regarding diabetes during pregnancy.
Dr. Brustman is the fellowship director for the division of maternal fetal medicine at Mount Sinai West.
During her esteemed career, Dr. Brustman has concentrated on optimal care for her patients, clinical research, and the teaching and training of young physicians. She has been a research mentor to countless residents and fellows across a range of obstetric topics. In 2005 and 2014, the obstetrics and gynecology residents at Mount Sinai St. Luke’s and Mount Sinai West chose her as the recipient of the National Faculty Award of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
In 2015, she was inducted as a Fellow with Advanced Membership into the Institute of Medical Education at the Icahn School of Medicine. She is a member of the Society of Maternal Fetal-Medicine, an elected member of the New York Obstetrical Society, and a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
